About

The Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design (NIHD) is a professional association that promotes healthcare design standards, fosters inclusion of nurses and healthcare providers in all phases of the design process, provides educational programs for its members, and disseminates innovations and research evidence for all areas of healthcare design. NIHD promotes collaborative and interdisciplinary education for all disciplines within the healthcare design and construction community. Compassionately providing better spaces for patients and their families during their time of need is worthy of recognition.

This DAISY Nurse Leader Award is open to individual nurses who are actively engaged in healthcare design. This includes nurses who consult, assist, advise, or work in creating better spaces for patients and families.

 

Criteria

Demonstrates leadership and the ability to collaborate with others such as clinicians, patients, families and healthcare design professionals.

Exhibits creativity and innovation in planning healthcare spaces or processes.

Utilizes research for decision making and/or participates in research related to the built healthcare environment.

Demonstrates improvements in patient care, safety and/or efficiencies in care delivery.
