Join NIHD in this 4-hour hosted interactive workshop titled Setting the Foundation: Operational Planning Essentials for Launching a Hospital, Ambulatory Service or New Department.
This Nursing Institute of Healthcare Design workshop empowers diverse members of the healthcare design and activation teams to explore key aspects of operational planning for a hospital, ambulatory service, or a new department. Operational planning involves more than just designing the physical space of the facility. It encompasses the intricate coordination of facility design, technology, resource planning, and financial planning. This workshop will focus on five aspects of operational planning from the ground up including:
Foundation [mission, values, goals, CHNA]
Framing [Resource allocation, confines of money and time for budgeting]
Form [Tech integration, information exchange, workflow]
Function [Metrics, Benchmarks, POEs, KPIs]
Future [Sustain, Maintain, Adapt/Flex]

This track is carefully curated by the NIHD Education Task Force. It offers programs that focus on clinical perspectives and knowledge as they relate to healthcare design. These programs offer continuing nursing professional development hours, but are applicable to all attendees.
